COOKIE POLICY

geopunk.io sets no cookies at all until you answer the consent notice. Accepting sets one analytics cookie so we can count page visits. Rejecting sets nothing, and the site works identically either way. There are currently no advertising cookies.

If you accept, Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics 4) stores a randomly generated identifier in your browser so Google can tell a returning visit from a new one:

• »_ga and _ga_*, set by Google Analytics. They hold a random identifier, expire two years after your most recent visit, and are not tied to your name or to anything you do on other sites.

What it is used for, and everything it never records, is covered in privacy policy section 5. The one question it answers is which pages people actually look at.

None are set today. The site is intended to be funded by Google AdSense, and when ads go live, Google and its partners will use advertising cookies as described in privacy policy section 3. Where consent is required before an advertising cookie is set, it will be asked for first, and rejecting will mean ads are non-personalised and keyed only to the page content.

Your stats, streaks, settings, in-progress puzzles, and your consent choice itself live in your browser's localStorage, on your device only. They are never transmitted anywhere and are not cookies, no request carries them. Privacy policy section 2 lists exactly what is stored.

• »The consent notice: Reject is as easy as Accept, and nothing is measured before you choose.
• »Change your mind any time: the Usage Analytics switch in Settings is the same choice and takes effect on the next page load.
• »Do Not Track: if your browser sends it, we never measure you and never show you the notice, nothing to configure.
• »Your browser can also block or clear cookies for geopunk.io entirely; every game still works.
