TERMS OF USE

GEOPUNK is a free, browser-based collection of geography games and reference pages. It requires no account and stores your progress in your own browser. We may change, add, or remove games, pages, and features at any time, and we may take the site offline for maintenance or permanently, without notice.

The site is free to use. It is funded by advertising served through Google AdSense. You may not use ad-fraud techniques, automated clicking, incentivised clicking, or scripts that generate impressions , against the ads on this site.

You agree not to:

• »Scrape, crawl, or bulk-download the site in a way that degrades it for other people, or ignore robots.txt.
• »Republish the site's pages or bundled data as your own product or dataset.
• »Attempt to breach, probe, or disrupt the site or the infrastructure it runs on.
• »Frame or mirror the site in a way that implies it is yours, or strip its branding.
• »Use automated tools to manipulate daily-puzzle results, streaks, or shared score grids.

Playing the games, reading the archive, sharing your score, and using the pages with your students are all explicitly fine.

The GEOPUNK name, wordmark, visual design, game design, written copy, and original code are owned by Disco Volante Labs. You may link to any page, quote short excerpts with attribution, and use the site freely in a classroom. You may not copy the site wholesale, or use the GEOPUNK name or look in a way that suggests we endorse you.

Geographic and reference data is derived from public sources and is used under their respective licences:

• »Country and state boundary geometry from Natural Earth (public domain) and the US Atlas TopoJSON, derived from US Census Bureau cartographic boundary files.
• »Country facts, official names, languages, currencies, borders, demonyms, from world-countries (ODbL).
• »Population figures from World Bank open data.
• »National and US state flag artwork from flagcdn, rendered at each flag's official proportions. Flag designs themselves are in the public domain.

Borders, names, and status shown on this site are presented for educational and gameplay purposes and are not a statement of any political position on disputed territories.

Geographic data changes and datasets disagree. We make a genuine effort to be accurate, but the site is provided for entertainment and general education. Do not rely on it for navigation, legal, commercial, academic-citation, or safety-critical purposes. If you spot an error, please tell us, corrections are welcome.

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Disco Volante Labs is not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from your use of the site, including lost stats or streaks. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

The site links to third-party sites and displays third-party ads. We do not control those destinations and are not responsible for their content, products, or privacy practices.

Our handling of data is described in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.

We may revise these terms; the “last updated” date at the top reflects the current version, and continued use constitutes acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Disco Volante Labs is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
