Iraq
Iraq (officially Republic of Iraq) is a country in Western Asia, with its capital at Baghdad, and is home to roughly 46.0M people.
Its official languages are Arabic, Aramaic, Sorani; the currency in circulation is Iraqi dinar (ع.د); people from here are called Iraqi.

Iraq touches six neighbours: Iran to the east, Jordan to the west, Kuwait to the southeast, Saudi Arabia to the south, Syria to the northwest and Turkey to the northwest. Directions run from one centre to the other.
Baghdad was founded in 762 as a perfectly circular walled city and became the centre of the Islamic Golden Age, home to the House of Wisdom.

The Arabic script at the centre reads 'Allahu Akbar'. The three stars once stood for the hoped-for union of Iraq, Egypt and Syria; they were removed in 2008 for their Ba'athist associations.
